WHU and Erasmus University to Start Collaboration

A delegation headed by Pauline van deer Meer Mohr, the President of the renowned Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), visited Wuhan University (WHU) on April 14, 2014, where she met with Wuhan University President Li Xiaohong and other university officials.

At the meeting, both EUR and WHU discussed generally before the two parties drew up a framework for the two universities to work together. WHU’s President Li said he was happy to learn that two universities had already laid out their intention to cooperate in certain fields. He hoped that a long-term partnership would be established so that the communication between two universities’ students will expand along with the depth of academic interactions between colleges, disciplines and scholars of two universities.

Pauline van deer Meer Mohr said that she was grateful for WHU’s warm welcome and proud of each university’s achievements over the last century. “Both EUR and WHU have strong reputations in Economics and Management, where we can further cooperate. I hope that the framework cooperation agreement signing will bring about a concrete and workable plan.” She also mentioned that EUR encourages more students to participate in international exchange programs.

After the meeting, WHU School of Resources and Environmental Sciences signed an Agreement on Double Master’s Program with EUR's Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies. The two universities also signed a formal collaboration agreement.

EUR dates back to 1913, when the seedling for the university, Dutch Business School was established. EUR’s research and education are dominated in the following fields: Health, Finance, Management and Culture. According to the latest Times ranking, EUR ranks the 73th amongst the best universities around the globe.
