Recently, the website named “Tao Ke La” (http://taoke.ziqiang.whu.edu.cn/) has been formally put into operation. This is our school's first Internet platform based on which students could submit and share the evaluation of the public elective courses, and more significantly, it is completely designed by WHU students. It has =  of course functions such as selection, evaluation and data analysis etc., but “Tao Ke La” clearly shows every factors of the individual courses, for example time, field and the location of the class, which helps students find out what courses they can fit in quickly.

“My memory about studying at the university, is all connected with Tao Ke La”

“My university memory, is all related with Tao Ke La”, the manager of “Tao Ke La” Zehui Jiang said. “Since my first year in college, we have already worked out a plan to develop the website, and now our dream finally comes true!” Zehui Jiang is a fourth year student at WHU’s International School of Software, and he is also the leader of the design team taking responsible for the whole process of designing this website. "Our initial idea is actually very simple. Since the school offers hundreds of elective courses, we want to figure out how the freshmen can choose their  class of interest in a fast and convenient way.”

Choosing class according to the demand

WHU provides students with a variety of public elective courses. Students sometimes don’t know how to make a choice. “Tao Ke La” classifies all the public elective courses according to grade, subject and time, which caters for the need of different students. Some students are on a very tight course schedule, some students are bothered with running around between different parts of the campus, and some students want to earn more credits.

Speak with data -- class evaluation

Furthermore, as a professional website, “Tao Ke La” puts the students first. If you click on course name, the new page will lead you to more information about the course such as the teaching quality and the examination mode. The information, based on the evaluations submitted by students, is finally presented as charts after data analysis.

“Next, “Tao Ke La” is ready to develop an online personal user system, which will provide personalized service for students. At the same time, we will begin working on the learning resources sharing platform, which concerns the most students,. “Tao Ke La” strives to become a comprehensive internet platform that really let the students feel in control of their study.”Zehui Jiang said.
