The year of 2011 is the centenary anniversary of the birth of Prof. Tang Zhangru, renowned historian and the late tenured professor of WHU. By coincidence, this year is also the 30th anniversary of China Society of Tang Dynasty's History and Research Institute of 3rd to 9th Century China, both of which were founded and led for a long period by Prof. Tang.
To commemorate Prof. Tang’s great contribution to the progress of China’s academic research, a conference named “International Seminar on the Centennial Aniversary of Prof. Tang Zhangru's Birth and the 11th Annual Meeting of Institute of China Society of Tang Dynasty's History" will be held from July 4th to 6th 2011 at Wuhan University. This event will be sponsored by WHU and China Society of Tang Dynasty's History jointly. The opening ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. July 4th in the main hall of the Humanities Building. All the teachers and students are welcome to attend.
