Zhang Lina

Professor Zhang Lina is a polymer physical chemist and a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is a now a professor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at Wuhan University. She was born in August, 1940 in Guangze, Fujian Province. She graduated from the department of chemistry at Wuhan University in 1963 and stayed in Osaka for one year to further her study in 1985. She became the member of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. She is the editorial board member of Cellulose,Journal of Biobased Materials and Bioenergy and Acta Polymerica Sinica.

Professor Zhang focuses her research on the basic and applied research of polymer physics and natural macromolecular material. It involves polymeric materialization, agrochemistry, environment material and biology. Her research results are original and innovative with great academic and application value.

Professor Zhang has taken the lead in over 10 projects with funds of 13million yuan, including national major projects for natural sciences foundation, national 973 and 863 projects, international cooperation projects. She has published over 410 theses, written 3 books and has been granted 62 patents. She has won the first prize of Provincial Natural Science Award and first prize of Technology Invention Award. She also won 2011 AnselmePayen Award for her discovery of a new form of cellulose solvent.
