Li Fei

Li Fei, male, was born in August 1960 in Wuhan, Hubei Province. He entered the workforce in 1982 and is currently the vice president of Wuhan University, professor and doctoral supervisor.

From 1978to 1982, Li studied as a Physical Geography major student in University of Science and Technology of China and got his bachelor’s degree. The following three years witnessed his work as intern researcher and research associate in the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics of CAS, where he got his master’s degree in 1991 and doctoral degree in 1992. From 1992 to 1995, he was in charge of the project of China Geological Prospecting Institute in East Lake High-tech Development Zone. Then came five years’ work in the former WUTSM, where Li served as associate professor, professor, doctoral supervisor and the professor responsible for a certain project. Apart from teaching and research work, he also took administrative position as the director of Graduate Department. From April 2005 to May 2009, he was both the Vice President of Graduate School (WHU) and the Section Chief of its Cultivation Section. Then he worked as the director of Development Planning and Subject Building Office and the professor and doctoral supervisor in School of Geodesy and Geomatics till 2009. Since June 2009, he has been the vice-president of Wuhan University. During this period, he got involved in and contributed to the successful completion of more than 20 scientific research projects at national and provincial level and he published more than 60 academic papers as well.

Li Fei also serves as the part-time professor in State Key Laboratory for Information Engineering in Surveying; Mapping and Remote Sensing, National GPS Engineering Research Center and Chinese Antarctic Center of Surveying and Mapping. Meanwhile, he is the doctoral supervisor in the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics of CAS, the member of Committee of experts on the application of Science in China's lunar exploration project and the editor of Progress in Geophysics, Bulletin of Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics and Information Science of Wuhan University and Geomatics Science and Engineering.
