Lecturer:Researcher Jiangyun Wang, Institute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences
Time:3:00p.m. ,May 7th,2019(Tuesday)
Place:Conference Room 210, Chemistry Building(West)
About the Lecturer:
Researcher Jiangyun Wang graduated from the Junior College of University of Science and Technology of China in 1998 and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003.He finished his postdoctoral research at Scripps Institute in 2003-2007and was introduced as researcher, doctoral tutor in nstitute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. The main research direction of the research group is synthetic biology and chemical biology. The main research contents include: 1. Development of new methods for protein and RNA labeling, study of dynamic conformational changes, localization, folding, and interaction of proteins and RNA. 2. Develop a method for gene codon expansion, and on this basis, conduct directed evolution of the enzyme. These new methods reveal important mechanisms of cytochrome c oxidase, photosynthesis centers, and have important applications in drug protein optimization, cell factories, and bioengineering.
