Wuhan University holds 15th Top 10 Singers' Competition Final

On May 13, the 15th Top 10 Singers Final of Wuhan University was held at Meiyuan Playground. After several rounds of selections, a total of 16 contestants entered the finals and competed for the prestigious title of Top 10 Singers.

Before the official competition began, students from Shining Street Dance Club brought the audience an opening dance performance called Ago, which conveys the strong desire of an ethnic minority girl named Ago to break free from constraints and pursue freedom.

The competition was divided into three rounds. First, 16 contestants were paired into eight groups to perform in duets. The top 3 contestants from this round proceeded directly to the final round. The remaining contestants collaborated with the guest singers in the second round, and the top 7 from this round qualified to enter the final, competing for the champion position.

In the first part of the duet performance round, the contestants fully showcased their strengths, allowing the audience to experience the beauty of harmony. The diverse singing styles brought the audience a feast of an audio-visual experience.

Huang Jiashen and Wang Shu sang the Nanping Evening Bell. Their gentle and delicate voices led the audience into a beautiful dream-like state, evoking our longing for our loved ones.

Qi Shiqian and Ma Jing brought the classic Chinese-style song Dao Ma Dan, the name of a heroic female warrior figure in Chinese operas. The magnificent drum performance and their powerful voices ignited the enthusiasm of the audience, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.

Entering the second part, the contestants and the guest singers showcased their talents without reservation, vying to qualify for entry to the finals.

Hu Chenxingyi and her singing partner sang a classic love song called Slow Cold. Wearing a black gauze skirt, the singer seemed to play and sing to herself, conveying her delicate grievances and sadness.

The most impressive performance must have been The Vast Sea and Sky by Zhang Yiren, a classic song from Beyond Band. Zhang’s infectious voice, coupled with the band’s performance, stirred up memories among the audience, and everyone raised their fluorescent sticks for a chorus.

The final solo section brought the entire competition to the pinnacle of the evening’s mood. Among the outstanding performers, Ma Jing’s performance was a knockout. The song You Are Not Truly Happy allowed the audience to rethink the meaning of life.

The dramatic tension of the song Make a Subtle Show was incredibly strong, combined with Hou Jingyu’s singing style using a mix of falsetto and natural voices. The whole performance reached the level of stage drama, conveying a re-examination of various aspects of social chaos and human weakness.

As soon as the prelude to the song Night in Ulaanbaatar rang out, the whole auditorium immediately quieted down. Qi Shiqian’s gentle yet powerful voice led the audience into a dreamlike realm, as if they were truly wandering in the vast Mongolian grasslands.

In the end, the above three contestants won the top three places. The competition came to an end with the final performance brought by Wang Shun, the founder of Leo Studio, and his band.

While the event itself is over, the melodious songs are still echoing, the beating notes are still resounding, and this romantic night will be deeply engraved in our youthful memories, making us reminisce over and over again.
