Wuhan University rises to 246th in QS 2021

On June 10, the QS Global Education Group officially released the QS World University Rankings for the year of 2021. Wuhan University ranked 246th in the world and 8th in Chinese mainland, rising up 11 places compared to last year’s ranking of 257th. This is the sixth consecutive year that Wuhan University is ranked among the top 300 QS World Universities.

Over 1000 universities from different countries and regions were assessed this year, with 83 universities in China, including 51 in Chinese mainland, 7 in Hong Kong, 2 in Macao and 23 in Taiwan getting on the list.

QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), an educational organization. It is viewed as one of the three most influential university rankings in the world, along with Academic Ranking of World Universities and Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

TheQS World University Rankings continues to enjoy a remarkably methodological framework using six indicators that are believed to effectively measure performance of universities. The parameters and their weights are as follows: Academic Reputation (40%), Employer Reputation (10%), Faculty/Student Ratio (20%), Citations per faculty (20%), International Faculty Ratio (5%), International Student Ratio (5%).
