The 26th International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of The Institute of Navigation was recently held in the United States. A doctoral student, Chen Qijin, from Wuhan University’s GNSS Center was among 6 students to won Student Paper Award and was asked to present at the conference.

Chen Qijin studies under Professor Liu Jingnan, a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Niu Xiaoji. His research focuses on the GNSS/INS Integrated Navigation algorithm and its applications. Chen’s winning thesis, Railway Track Irregularity Measuring by GNSS/ INS Integration, demonstrates a new method for measuring railway track irregularity based on GNSS/INS Integrated Navigation Technology. It is the first time that the GNSS/INS Integrated Navigation Technology has been used in light portable orbit measuring cars, thereby achieving relative measuring precision at the millimeter level in dynamic measurement model. This method will help improve the measuring efficiency of railway track irregularity.

The conference, organized by the Institute of Navigation, is the highest level academic conference in the field of global satellite navigation and time broadcasting system.
