Delegation from Saudi Arabia Visits WHU

Saleh I Alqasoumi, the cultural advisor from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in China, led a medical school delegation to visit Wuhan University. Executive vice president Feng Youmei welcomed the delegation.

At the meeting, Feng Youmei introduced the success stories of Saudi Arabia students studying at WUH, as well as cooperation between WHU and famous medical schools such as the University of Chicago in the United States and Nancy University in France. She added that WHU attaches great importance to the quality of medical education, endowing a broad international perspective in the curriculum and benefiting from cooperative experiences with foreign schools. She wished that WHU could expand the cooperation to include scientific research collaboration and even collaboration in fields beyond medicine with educational institutions in Saudi Arabia.

Saleh I Alqasoumi explained the current status of student exchange programs between the two countries and hoped to further promote bilateral relations through education, which has proved mutually beneficial to the two nations.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to the basic teaching experimental center, the second clinical college, and the Stomatology Hospital.

The delegation, organized by the government of Saudi Arabia, came to review medical education at several universities in China. It aims at obtaining information about medical teaching at WHU in order to encourage future generations of students to attend WHU.
