Between October 17th to 26th, 2011, a delegation headed by the Wuhan University Vice President Li Fei visited several partner universities in Europe, including the University of Stuttgart, Germany, the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France and the Universidad de Sevilla in Spain.

On October 19th, the University of Stuttgart organized a grand ceremony to celebrate the 10-year partnership between the two universities. At 5 pm in the afternoon, the ceremony kicked off with a musical program presented by the University of Stuttgart choir, with around 200 students from both universities attending the event. Professor Wolfram Ressel, Rector of the University of Stuttgart, delivered a speech in which he praised the collaboration between two universities and their joint education of undergraduates in particular. In his address on the ceremony, Li Fei reviewed the development of the bilateral relationship which he also expected would deepen in the future. In the dinner afterwards, the delegation spoke with WHU students about their life and study at UoS.

In Lyon, France, the delegation met WHU students who came to Lyon this September on the Sino-French Double Bachelor Degree in Engineering and Sciences program. In the meeting, the delegation got feedback from the students on the teaching methods materials utilized in this program. At the Luncheon hosted by Daniel Simon, the Vice President of Lyon 1, and Professor Li Fei reached a consensus on expanding collaboration between two universities.

The visit of the delegation to Universidad de Sevilla, the first one of its kind, was warmly received. Lourdes Munduate Jaca, vice rector for international relations, proposed to expand bilateral collaborations with WHU, which Li Fei agreed. Afterwards, the delegation visited the School of Philology and discussed the ways to collaborate teaching Spanish at Wuhan University.
