Chu Longqiang, male, of Han ethnicity and born in April 1968, holds a master's degree and a Ph.D. Chu is a member of the Communist Party of China and a researcher. He is currently serving as the deputy party secretary of Wuhan University.
Chu has held various positions at Wuhan University, including deputy party secretary of the School of Political Science and Public Administration and deputy party secretary of the School of Law. From May 2009 to September 2017, he served as party secretary of the Wuhan University Library. From September 2017 to September 2021, he was the director of the Graduate Affairs Office of the Wuhan University CPC Committee, deputy director of the Graduate School, and division chief of the Graduate Work Office. From September 2021 to March 2024, he held the position of executive deputy director of the Publicity Office of the Wuhan University CPC Committee, concurrently serving as the director and spokesperson of the News Center. From March 2024 to June 2024, he served as the director of the Party Committee's Publicity Office and director and spokesperson of the News Center. Since June 2024, he has been the deputy party secretary, director of the Publicity Office, director of the News Center, and spokesperson of Wuhan University. He has been recognized with awards such as Advanced Individual in Public Opinion Information Work by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, National Advanced Individual in Degree and Graduate Education, Advanced Individual in Publicity and Ideological Work in Hubei Province, Advanced Individual in Ideological and Political Work in Hubei Province, and Outstanding Party Worker in Higher Education in Hubei Province.
Chu’s main social appointments include serving as the executive director of the China Higher Education Association's Publicity Work Research Branch and vice president of the Wuhan International Cultural Exchange Center.
