Branch of WHU Zhongnan Hospital to Be Built in Optics Valley

The First International Medicare Center in Hubei

Wuhan University’s Zhongnan Hospital and the Administration of Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (WEHDZ) signed a cooperation agreement on October 27 to jointly build the first international medicare center in Hubei.

WHU will cooperate with French medical schools in building the Center, which will be called the Wuhan University China-France Hospital and will be built in the central area of Optical Valley Biolake. International best practices for medical service and management will result from the cooperation.

Present at the signing ceremony were Serge Lavroff, Consul General of France in Wuhan; Dan Changchun, Deputy Secretary of WEHDZ Working Committee of the Communist Party, Deputy Director of the WEHDZ Administration and Director of the Biolake Management Office; Li Jian, Chairman of the University Council of WHU; and leaders and experts of Zhongnan Hospital.

At the ceremony, Dan Changchun expressed his hope that a modern comprehensive medicare center utilizing cutting-edge technologies, facilities and service, would symbolize WHUs strength.

Mr. Lavroff praised the project as a demonstration of the high potential of cooperation between WHU and France in medical research and education. He further said that the French Consulate in Wuhan would give full support to the project.

Li Jian noted that the project is of great significant, as it will not only help to improve the medical facilities in Optics Valley, but also contribute to the development of Zhongnan Hospital. WHU would fully support this project, aiming at building a top-quality hospital.

Patients’ satisfaction, internationalization, and superior quality are the backbone of the hospitals buildings, facilities, equipments and service. A modern IT platform will be set up covering management, equipment, medical record, prescriptions and health record, enabling patients to enjoy quick and comprehensive information on their care.
