On June 17, the Commencement Ceremony of the Sino-French Joint Class in Medicine was held at WHU. Serge Lavroff, Consul General of France in Wuhan gave a speech at the ceremony, commending that graduates from this class all hold a trump card in the job market.

Jiang Changzhong, Vice-President of WHU, Professor Zhou Yunfeng, Chief of the Faculty of Medicine of WHU and Academician Stoltz from the Université Henri Poincaré conferred the master’s degree on the graduate students of the fourth Sino-French Joint Class in Medicine (Seven-year Program). Over 200 students and their parents witnessed this solemn moment.

Lavroff said, with the increasingly close ties between China and France, graduates who are versed in French language are especially favored in the job market. He hoped that more and more students would choose Sino-French joint classes for their education.

Jiang Changzhong exhorted the graduates to forge ahead in their future work and life. He reminded the graduates to be diligent and down-to-earth. He hoped that the graduates would reciprocate the society and their parents with their hard work. Moreover, he expected the graduates to keep in touch with their alma mater, maintain the honor of WHU and strive for greater glory for WHU. At last, he hoped the graduates would keep in mind the inculcation of the Chinese and French teachers and make their own contribution to the friendship and exchange between China and France.

There are totally 18 graduates of the fourth Sino-French Joint Class in Medicine (Seven-year Program). They all have passed the CET-6 (College English Test, Band 6).From the sophomore year, they began to learn French and 13 professors from France have taught them successively. Among the students in this class, 12 students went to the Université Henri Poincaré as exchange students. Graduates from this joint class have good overall quality. They all have successfully landed a job in Zhongnan Hospital of WHU or other Class 3 First Level general hospitals.
