With the Golden Autumn “War of Words” Debate Competition closing on  November 22nd, the 2014 Golden Autumn Art Festival of Wuhan University came to a successful end.

The festival, which was first held in 1987, consists of distinctive competitions such as the fashion runway contest, the campus scene drama competition, the dancing contest and the chorus competition. As one of the most praised annual campus events in WHU, the festival has attracted a great number of students from different departments who took part in a variety of activities.

With the students keenly engaged in various competitions during this event, the festival now has not only become a platform for  showcasing the vibrant spirit of the students, but also an important  cultural feature of the University.

Now, let’s take a look at some photos taken during this year’s colorful events.

Presented by the contestant from the School of Journalism and Communication in the fashion runway competition this year, the original clothes design of the contestant illustrated by the professional catwalks of the model has demonstrated the ultimate ingenuity and the unique idea of the designer, bringing such a visual splendor to the audiences.

Benefitting from both a vivid performance of the actors and a well-structured plot, the drama Salvation of the Puppets, which was shown in the Campus Scene Drama Contest this year, reflected the current mental status of the college students, as envisioned by the director and his in-depth approach.

Ji Chu, meaning the praise of Chu culture, won the first place in the dancing competition this year. As the proverb goes, one minute on stage requires one decade of exercises. The performance of the dancers was so impressive that the audiences almost felt they were brought back to the ancient times of the Chu culture.

Over 20 teams have joined in this year’s chorus competition with different styles of songs, bringing their loud and clear voices to the campus.

32 debating teams have joined in this year’s fierce debate competition. As the motions of the debates circled around both the social issues and the campus life, all teams had been able to show their eloquence and logical thinking throughout the game. At last, the School of Journalism and Communication was awarded the championship ahead of the School of Computing, School of Philosophy and School of Physics and Technology.
