While many students are busy preparing for their final examination, Zhang Tianbai, Yu Weilai, and Song Zihan are busy getting ready for their upcoming trip to Harvard.

Through several rounds of selection, three undergraduate students have been selected to take part in an exchange program (GEP) with Harvard University. They will stay at Harvard for one semester, taking spring courses. Now they are ready to experience the charm of this world's top university.

In China, there are only a few top universities that have developed exchange programs with Harvard and no more than 100 students could get the chance to go in exchange programs to Harvard each year. As introduced by a university official, “every undergraduate student from first grade to third grade can apply for the GEP project according to the listing of the universities and their own needs for self-development. And the credits they obtained overseas will be recognized by Wuhan University. Besides Harvard University, the GEP project has chosen more undergraduate students to take part in exchanges with Columbia University and the University of California at Riverside. In the future, we will provide more opportunities for our students to experience  world first-class universities.”

As one of the universities with the longest history in China, WHU is a place with profound cultural foundation but also with an open mind. To enrich the students’ overseas learning experience, WHU is committed to expanding its channels of cooperation with the world's top universities. In the recent years, WHU has relied on the support of the national programs and cooperated with qualified overseas study agencies, greatly enhancing the quantity and quality of its overseas programs.

For the three students who join the GEP this time, this is a really good chance to make new progress during the trip to Harvard even though they are already excellent students.

“Enjoying challenges and getting inspiration is my purpose for this trip.”  Yu Weilai said, a sophomore of Chemistry and Molecular Science College and who had shown an excellent academic performance track year after year.

A junior student Zhang Tianbai has already been to Taiwan as an exchange student for one semester. The experience made him feel that going global is really important. “I got closer to the charm of law: the importance of practice.” Zhang said.

Song Zihan is the only girl among the three students and she is also the youngest of them. Speaking of the challenges of living abroad, she smiled, "I am the kind of person who  achieves goals, especially once I set my mind to do it. And I hope  to make some foreign friends during this trip."
