On April 15th, a delegation from Ohio State University paid a two-day visit to WHU to discuss administrative staff exchange program with graduate school and possible collaboration with School of Stomatology.
The delegation includes Dr. Scott Herness, the Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Ann Salimbene, the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School and Ruth Lu, the Academic Coordinator of OSU China Gateway Office. During the first meeting, Mr. Ding Cheng from Graduate School and Ms. Liu Xiaoli from Office of International Affairs reviewed the cooperation between two universities and expressed sincere hopes for more cooperation in the future such as student exchange program. The two sides later exchanged ideas regarding the personnel structure and the administration sector setup , the curriculum provision and the student life management of graduate students. Dr. Ann Salimbene shared the current situation of the mentor school system and the program assistants especially for student life management in OSU.
On the next day morning, Dr. Scott Herness and his colleagues visited the School of Stomatology at WHU. Vice Dean Chen Zhi, and Dr. Du Mingquan showed the guests the laboratories and dental facilities. Dr. Scott Herness, a Stomatology Professor for the past decades, was especially interested in the SPF animal laboratory where he learned about the experiments being carried out. In the end, an agreement was reached giving more room to extended exchanges in the stomatology field.
Founded in 1870, Ohio State University is a prestigious public research university in Columbus, Ohio, the United States. It scored 68th in the 2014-2015 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Since a cooperation agreement was signed in 1981, the stable exchange and collaboration between OSU and WHU took place smoothly, covering student exchanges, faculty exchanges, joint research programs, management training, culture exchanges and so on.
