The third list of national ‘Top 100 Newspapers & Journals’was released recently. For the second time since the 2ndlist was released, the Wuhan University Journal of Philosophy & Social Sciences again hits the chart.
The list of national ‘Top 100 Newspapers & Journals’ is published by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) every two year. According to SAPPRFT’s official announcement, it aims to implement the fine newspapers & journals project, further promote the digital transformation and upgrade of the news publishing industry. All the newspapers & journals on the list representthe nation’s highest level.
The whole list falls into three sub-lists: ‘Top 100 Newspapers’, ‘Top 100 Social Science Journals’ and ‘Top 100 Science & Technology Journals’. This year, 13 social science journals of national key universities made their wayonto the ‘Top 100 Social Science Journals’ list, including the Wuhan University Journal of Philosophy & Social Sciences, the Nanjing University Journal of Philosophy & Social Sciences, the Journal of Renmin University of China, and so on.
According to WHU’s official website, the past few years have witnessed constant progress of the Wuhan University Journal of Philosophy & Social Sciences. The journal also won its third Hubei Publishing Government’s Award last March. In April 2017, when Changjiang Scholar, Professor Wang Xinyan took the position of chief editor, he put forward the core principles of ‘tracing frontiers, focusing on hot issues, encouraging originality and attaching importance to comprehensiveness’,withwhich he stressed should be implemented intothe planning of topics and manuscripts and the work of editing andproofreading on a large scale. In this case, the academic level, quality and influence of the journal have been increasingever since, and the journalhas been receiving recognition from both peers and readers.
According to statistics from National Knowledge Infrastructure net (CNKI.net), in 2017, the downloads and citations of the Wuhan University Journal of Philosophy & Social Sciences ranked first among all the journals of national key universities.
