Yuan Yufeng

Yuan Yufeng, male, of Han nationality, was born in May 1971. He holds a doctoral degree. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, a professor, chief physician, and doctoral supervisor. He is currently a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Wuhan University, where he assists the president in managing international exchanges and affairs related to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, international education, procurement and bidding, and medical education. He is in charge of the Office of International Affairs (Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), the Procurement and Bidding Management Center, the School of Medicine, the School of International Education, and the Hospital of Wuhan University. He is the contact person for the following schools: the College of Life Sciences, Taikang Medical School (School of Basic Medical Sciences), and The Second Clinical School (Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University).

He previously served as the director of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, as a member of the Party Standing Committee and as vice dean, as well as party secretary, of the Second Clinical School (Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University). In March 2024, he was appointed as a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Wuhan University.

Yuan Yufeng has been selected for the Chinese Ministry of Education’s Talent Program and recognized as a young and mid-career expert who has made outstanding contributions to national health. He has long been committed to basic and clinical research on the pathogenesis and minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. He has been awarded honors, such as the National Award for Excellence in Innovation, the National ‘May 1st Labor Medal’ and the Hubei Province ‘May 1st Labor Medal’.

His main part-time social positions include director of the Clinical Medical Research Center for Minimally Invasive Diagnosis and Treatment of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases in Hubei Province, and director of the Hubei Province Engineering Research Center for Precision Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases.
