Han Jin Curriculum Vitae Born in September 1959, Han Jin received his bachelor degree as a physics major student from Beijing Normal University in February 1982. Now, he is the Secretary of the CPC Committee of Wuhan University and Chair of the University Council. He was appointed the current position in March 2013. From March 2011 to February 2013, he was the Deputy Secretary, Secretary of Ezhou Municipal CPC Committee and Vice Mayor and Mayor of Ezhou Municipal Government, Hubei Province. From November 2010 and March 2011, he was the Deputy Secretary of Huanggang Municipal CPC Committee, Hubei Province. From December 2004 to November 2010, he was the Director of the Development and Planning Department, Ministry of Education. From August 1998 to December 2004, he was the Deputy Director of the Development and Planning Department, Ministry of Education. From March 1997 to August 1998, he was the Deputy Director of the Planning and Construction Department, State Education Commission. From September 1993 to March 1997, he was the Director of the Career Planning Division of the Planning and Construction Department, State Education Commission. From May 1989 to September 1993, he was the Deputy Director of the first Planning Division of the Planning and Construction Department, State Education Commission. Message from the President
Li Xiaohong Wuhan University is a comprehensive university that is entitled to priority development by the government. Wuhan University boasts not only a long history, a profound culture and a wide range of disciplines, but also rich experience in running school and quality education resources. We have the most beautiful campus in China with a landscape of lakes and hills, as well as clusters of buildings with a unique style. Moreover, we have a group of famous scholars and academics of integrity, prestige, learning and cultivation. Wuhan University has been pursuing an open-door educational philosophy. It has established and maintained cooperative relations with more than 350 universities and scientific research institutions in more than 40 countries and regions. At present, we have over 200 international research cooperation projects, joint education programs and inter-institutional exchange programs in operation with foreign partners. Wuhan University aims to make a name for itself in the world as an international, comprehensive and research-oriented high-level university. Let’s make progress hand in hand and create a better world! Li Xiaohong Curriculum Vitae Li Xiaohong was born in Hechuang, Chongqin, in June 1959. He is a professor, a Ph.D in Mining Engineering, and a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Li Xiaohong received his bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in Mining Engineering from Chongqing University respectively in 1982, 1985 and 1993. In May 1985, he became a teacher at the Mining Department of Chongqing University, right after graduation. From June 1989 to October 1991, he stayed at University of California, Berkeley as a research fellow. From March to August in 1996, he was a senior visiting scholar and a professor at University of Queensland in Australia. Since 1985, Li Xiaohong served successively as the Vice Director of the Mining Department, Dean of the College of Resources and Environmental Sciences, Assistant to the President, Chief of the Scientific Research Department, and Vice President of Chongqing University (CQU). From January 2003 to November 2010, he was the President of CQU. In December 2010, he took the presidency of Wuhan University. As a university president for more than ten years, he has registered significant achievements in theoretical research of higher education. His philosophy of schooling “focus on internationalization while serve the community and industry” and his education concepts, “it is a duty for a university president to care for his students” and “light up one’s future with a positive attitude” are highly regarded by different sectors of the society. He is now the Vice President of Higher Education Academy of China, and a member of the discipline consultative group of the State Council. Li Xiaohong is an expert in mining security technology, a winner of “National Science Fund for Outstanding Youths”, and an Honorary Professor of University of Queensland in Australia. He devotes his long time research to coal gas control, and his findings have helped make a breakthrough in the prevention of gas disaster before mining and increased the utilization rate of gas mining, producing remarkable economic and social benefits. Li Xiaohong is also a member of 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a representative of the 12th National People's Congress, and a representative of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. |
