Li Xiaohong Elaborates on WHU’s Dream at World Academic Summit

From October second to the fourth, Wuhan University’s President, Li Xiaohong, was invited to speak at the annual World Academic Summit in Singapore, organized by Times Higher Education (THE) and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

As a representative of the Chinese academia, President Li gave a speech entitled “Globalization:The Dream of Wuhan University”. He focused on WHU’s internationally focused training of students, education perspective, and scientific research.

During the conference, President Li networked with a number of presidents from leading universities to discuss education globalization.  He also met with Phil Baty, the editor-at-large from THE, and students who have taken part in a joint WHU-NTU training program.

The annual World Academic Summit is the world’s most important seminar on higher education, bringing together world leaders from universities, government and industry from more than 30 countries to explore the role that universities play in fuelling the knowledge economy.

Speakers for the summit includes former chairman of Nobel Foundation, presidents from the Imperial College in England, Seoul National University in South Korea, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong, along with representatives from Times Higher Education, Germany’s SGL Group, the United Kingdom’s Foreign and Commonwealth office and the Nature publishing group.
