On May 19th, a delegation of 48 excellent students from National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University and Singapore University of Technology and Design came to spend 3 days visiting Wuhan University.
Li Fei, Vice President of WHU, attended the welcome ceremony. He invited the delegation to make full use of the three days to gain greater knowledge of Wuhan University and appreciate local customs in Wuhan, a place of strategic importance in the center of China. In addition, Li Fei said he hoped that through this visit these students would feel the generous and liberal spirit of China.
During their stay in Wuhan, the delegation visited some symbolic sites of WHU,and they consulted with the staff about the study abroad policy. In addition, they went sightseeing in the East Lake and Moshan Hill, and enjoyed theQingchuan Pavilion. In this way, not only did they experience the historical and cultural atmosphere of Wuhan, but also got a sense of Wuhan’s urban planning.
11 volunteers from WHU took part in their activities to provide help in accommodation, meals and transportation for these Singaporean students during the whole trip. Firm friendship has been formed among these volunteers and visitors.
The exchange activity of excellent Chinese and Singaporean undergraduates is organized by the Ministry of Education of both countries. It has been held for 11 years, aiming to facilitate exchange and develop friendship among students of the two countries. From February 25th, to March 11th, 2014, 11 WHU undergraduates, together with students from Hubei University, Xiamen University and Xiamen University of Technology, visited Singapore. This return visit began in WHU and lasted two weeks.
