To further enhance international communication, WHU has chosen eight universities as strategic partners from among its overseas partner universities. On June 6th, WHU appointed as representatives eight scholarswho have strong interest and competence in international communication, and possess overseas educational resources.
Eight partners include University of Chicago, Duke University in the United States, National University of Singapore, Erasmus University Rotterdam in Netherlands, University of Helsinki in Finland, University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, University of Paris Diderot and University of Lorraine in France.
The collaboration involves exchange projects, joint education, scientific research cooperation, Confucius Institutes, summer sessions for doctors of humanities and social sciences, and so on. It is aimed at promoting strategic cooperation with partner universities as well as cultivating an education brand through the efforts of representatives.
WHU Executive President Feng Youmei presented certificates of appointment to the representatives. She pointed out the importance of encouraging junior faculty to stay in our partner universities for six months to a year to provide a stable foundation for international collaboration. She also emphasized that we should proceed from reality and make international cooperation another effective method of strengthening discipline construction. The representatives also put forward some proposals concerning selection of partners and specific cooperative models from the perspective of their disciplines. The detailed plan will be formulated later.
