---Alumni Donation Exceeds 1 billion RMB, Ranking the 3rd
Wuhan University rises to No. 4 in 2015 Chinese University Rankings , up from No. 5 in 2014, reaching its historical high. Its alumni donation registers 1.129 billion RMB, putting WHU on the 3rd position nationwide, according to the “Research Report of Evaluation for the 2015 Chinese Universities ” released on www.cuaa.net on December 29th 2014.
The Chinese University Rankings has been in service for 13 years, marking one of the most unique, authoritative, influential and renowned leading non-profitable university rankings in China. The Rankings this year released the top five universities in China as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Wuhan University and Renmin University.
It is reported that 2014 witnessed tremendous progress for WHU in both its domestic and international presence, as well as its core competitiveness. In 2014, WHU made it up to Top 400 Universities in the 3 most prestigious university rankings, standing at 301st, 335th , and 352nd respectively in US News, QS, and Times Higher Education; 120th in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) Webometrics Laboratory of World University Rankings, up from the 157th place in 2013; 12th in Asia; 105th in the world on "Nature index" ; 26th on The Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2014, up by 14 positions comparing to the year 2013.
An university official noted that the university ranking could, to some extent, reflect the educational achievements and development trend of the university, but we need to treat it in a sensible way, and take it as an incentive towards increasing our efforts toward the goal of building Wuhan University into a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
