From September 17th to September 18th, President Li Xiaohong of Wuhan University attended a series of events in the Sino-British High-Level Talent Exchange Dialogue, and delivered a keynote speech on the Sino-British Higher Education Conference.
On September 17th, the third round of the Sino-British High-Level Talent Exchange Dialogue was held in London, jointly hosted by China’s Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Jeremy Hunt, the British Secretary of State for Health.
During the meeting, both sides expressed their wishes to enhance cooperation, communication and form a mature cultural exchange mechanism between China and UK.
Delegates in the third round of Sino-British High-level Talent Exchange Dialogue
According to the conference’s agenda, on the morning of September 18th, the Sino-British Higher Education Roundtable was held in Cardiff University. Delegates from over 20 schools in China and UK attended the meeting. President Li Xiaohong addressed with the topic of Encouraging Innovative and Entrepreneurial Spirits through Sino-British Educational Cooperation, in which he discussed in depth on the approaches for universities to cultivate outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial youth for today’s society. Later on the Sino-British innovative forum that afternoon, delegates had further discussions on topics concerning entrepreneurial innovation and school-enterprise cooperation.
In the Q&A session, Jiang Yizhi, a student from the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University had a conversation with the Chinese and British Ministers of Education, during which she pointed out that the huge differences between Chinese and British education ideals urges us to make further communication to realize complementary advantages.

The High-Level Talent Exchange Dialogue was established in 2012, covering the fields of education, technology, culture, media, sports and youth. Together with Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) and Strategic Dialogue, these exchange mechanisms are considered to be the fundamental supporting pillars of Sino-British relationship.
