Commencement means the start. What to expect and how to gear up for the future life? President Li Xiaohong’ s advice is “To be your own life’s craftsman”. In his speech he talked about alumnus Ruan Liping, the president of Bull, an international electrical devices provider and alumnus Chen Shanguang, the commander and chief architect of Shenzhou-9 space system. The two alumni are good craftsmen for their own lives and President Li expected the students to learn from them after leaving school. “To be a life’s craftsman, one should be absorbed in only one thing, because life is limited and we have too little time to fulfill many things.” “To be a life’s craftsman, one should pursue refinement. Good, better, best; never let it rest. Till good is better, and better is best.[1] ” “To be a life’s craftsman, one should be in virtue. On the road to success, one should be in honesty, Integrity and goodness.”
