It's spring. With the pandemic raging in autumn, the annual costume competition had gotten delayed, but, fortunately, the students of Wuhan University never give up. The rehearsals and preparation for the event are all about presenting a splendid picture to the world, praising Wuhan University's youth and their splendor.
With a nimble and graceful figure, and an exquisitely costumes distinctive design, the clothing exudes a unique and captivating charm.
Weaving the renowned landscapes of mountains and rivers into the core theme, these garments draw inspiration from the natural world, incorporating hues of blue, black and gold. This color palette aligns with the theme, creating a splendid yet conventional and uniquely beautiful design. While symbolizing the great rivers and mountains of the motherland, the students also took this opportunity to praise the Party's great achievements in the past century.
Under the umbrella, the beaded curtain swayed, stringing together thousands of years of flowers. Stories from the mountains are quietly collected by grey magpies and woven into eternal poems.
Representing a summer scenery of Luojia Mountain, this costume showed the green woods and butterflies flying through them. The overall color tone is green and white, symbolizing youth and freedom.
This well-designed finery is more like a landscape painting. The elements make up a picture of mountains and rivers crossing ancient and modern times as well as north and south.
Heaven and earth are our companions, and everything exists in harmony. A flower and the universe, a tree and enlightenment, a petal and a leaf in the vast garden of Luojia — all intricately crafted by us. Every plant, bird and animal is skillfully woven by us into each garment.
The work "The End of the Road" by students from the School of Journalism and Communication takes all kinds of creatures in the ocean as the carrier and, by comparing machinery with heartbeat, and dreams with scars, depicts the foreseeable future where the environment has deteriorated beyond repair. Both a visionary and an aural feast, it rings the alarm bells about environmental protection’, thus having a great impact in appealing to everyone's heart.
Maybe it's rainy. The bright dream of sewing one stitch at a time, and no amount of rainy weather can extinguish the eager expectation with all the efforts going back to the gorgeous spotlight. With the colorful clothes out of sight, this autumn costume competition has also come to an end.
