Vice-Principals of Dundee visited WHU to discuss joint academic programme

On October 24th, Vice-Principals of University of Dundee, Wendy Alexander and Karl Leydecker led a delegation to visit Wuhan University (WHU) to conduct in-depth communication and consultation on the collaborative education program. Vice President of WHU, Li Fei received the delegation.

Opening of the Board Meeting

At 9:00 am, the board meeting on Double Degree Programme in Architectural Studies Collaboration was held in WHU. The two sides exchanged views on issues such as project implementation and possibility of carrying out cooperation in other forms. Li Fei proposed modifications to the project's enrollment policy and curriculum evaluation standards. WHU would fully support the development of this program, the first and the only one of this kind at undergraduate level at WHU, he said. Li Fei also pointed out that WHU was currently implementing a three-semester system. It hoped to co-organize summer schools and short-term study program with the University of Dundee, and to promote the development of the architecture discipline.

Vice-Principal Karl Leydecker expressed his full confidence in the adjustments made by WHU and emphasized on making efforts to improve the competitiveness of the program and increase enrollment in the future. Vice- Principal Wendy Alexander made it clear that she hoped to deepen the cooperation between two universities. She demonstrated the strong support for the implementation of the double degree program and said that she would willingly expand the cooperation fields between the two universities.

It is reported that the University of Dundee can be traced back to 1881 and is located in the heart of Dundee, Scotland's fourth largest city. Since 2009, Wuhan University and University of Dundee have successively carried out various cooperative programs in the fields of physics, civil engineering, architecture, mathematics and public health with remarkable results.
