The Building of Center of Innovative & Entrepreneurial Practice for Students of Wuhan University was built in January 2013. The total building area is 6208 square meters, and the total height 13.72 meters. The working area has 4 floors, and the exhibition hall area has 2 floors and one inter floor. The main functional areas include: working area, exhibition hall area, lecture hall, entrepreneurship room, etc. The building has 87 rooms, including 46 DIY work rooms, 10 entrepreneurship rooms, 4 competition classrooms, 3 discussion rooms, 1 HD recording classroom, 1 multi-media classroom, 1 cloud terminal classroom, 2 workshops, 2 display rooms, 1 lecture hall, 1 meeting room, 1 data room, 1 exhibition room, 1 practice room, and several duty rooms, offices, control rooms and storerooms, among which 73 rooms are for innovative teaching. The area of ground-floor hall is 766 square meters, and the area of second-floor hall 734 square meters. In 2014, the university invested 5.6 million Yuan in comprehensive decoration and put the building into use, building the center into a public platform on which the students carry out scientific activities, academic competition training, scientific innovation and innovative & entrepreneurial education as well as a display platform for creation, innovation and entrepreneurship education results of university students. The center can hold about 70 innovative & entrepreneurial teams to carry out various kinds of innovative & entrepreneurial projects, and all students may enter the center free of charge with project application. The university will implement whole-process monitoring, dynamic management and all-round services for all project teams. By now, the first group of 51 teams has been assessed, and the second group of 34 teams has also entered the center.

The opening of the Center of Innovative & Entrepreneurial Practice for Students is a specific measure through which Wuhan University earnestly pursues the target of educational reforming and development, while “significantly improving the cultivation of innovative talents” which was set forth in the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC is a new milestone for innovative & entrepreneurial practice education for university students, which marks that the university begins to further and comprehensively deepen innovative & entrepreneurial education.
