Li Ziyuan, male, was born in November 1964 in Xiantao, Hubei Province. He has a doctoral degree in Law and is now a professor. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of Wuhan University and also the Vice President.
He studied as an undergraduate in cytobiology in School of Life Sciences, Wuhan University from 1983 to 1987, where he served as the secretary of Youth League Committee Branch (1987-1992) and the deputy secretary of Youth League Committee of WHU(1992-1997). From 1997 to 2001, he took the position as the secretary of Youth League Committee of WHU. Meanwhile, he obtained a doctorate degree of law and was elected as a member of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League for the tenth term in December 1997 and as a delegate to the Fourteenth National Congress of the Communist Youth League in June 1998. In October 1999, he was elected as a member of the Ninth Youth Federation of Hubei Province and a Standing Member of the Tenth Youth Federation of Wuhan. He took the position as the assistant to the mayor of Xianning in 2001 and as President of East Lake Branch of Wuhan University.
In the following decade, he assumed his position as secretary of CPC Committee of School of Chemistry and Molecular Science, the director of Financial Management Department, member of the University Council, and vice president of WHU.
Li Ziyuan has also been devoted to the administration of WHU and theoretical studies in various fields such as higher education, constitutional law and administrative law. He has published over 20 papers in Journal of Wuhan University and Guide of Ideological and theoretical education and has participated in the compiling of three publications.
