Title:Surface Mapping of Faceted Metal Oxides by Chemical Probe-assisted Chemical Probe-assisted NMR for Catalytic Application
Speaker: Dr Yung-Kang Peng (University of Oxford)
Time:March 26, 2018(Wendsday)10:00 AM
Room:Huazhong 201
About the speaker:
Dr. Yung-Kang Peng obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2009 from National Chung Cheng University (Taiwan) and graduated as a Master of Science in 2011 from National Taiwan University. He started a PhD in 2013 at Wolfson Catalysis Centre of Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory at University of Oxford (UK) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. S. C. Edman Tsang, for which he received a Clarendon scholarship from University of Oxford. His research interest is using NMR-active probe to investigate surface features of faceted metal oxides in both qualitative and quantitative manner. In 2017, Dr. Peng successfully defended his PhD thesis. Dr Peng received his DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof Shik Chi Edman Tsang at the University of Oxford. He is now a post-doctoral research associate in the Tsang group, and has publications in some respectable journals, such as Nat. Commun., JACS, ACS Nano, Nano Today and Mater. Today. He will start his academic career as an Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong this May.
