Prof. Shen Huanfeng elected as IET fellow

Recently, Prof. Shen Huanfeng from School of Resource and Environmental Sciences of Wuhan University was elected as a Fellow by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

As the largest professional institution in Europe and the second-largest in the world, IET has 168,000 members in 150 countries worldwide up to now. Its professional classification includes over 40 professional fields in 5 major industries, i.e. energy and electricity, transportation, information and communication, design and manufacturing, and architectural environment. IET Fellows are awarded by IET to scholars and technical professionals who continuously have extraordinary achievements in their fields.

Shen Huanfeng, Professor and Associate Dean of School of Resource and Environmental Sciences of Wuhan University, is mainly engaged in research on remote sensing monitoring of resources and environment. He presides over 2 national key research and development projects and 6 national natural foundation projects. He has published 4 monographs and more than 100 academic papers in major academic journals in China and abroad. His monographs and journals have been cited more than 5,000 times by Web of Science. His research findings have been applied to the data processing and application systems of several domestic satellites, and have been widely utilized in fields such as land and resources investigation, ecological and environmental monitoring and so on.
