2015 Luojia Alumni Forum: “Internet+ ” Innovation and Entrepreneurship

WHU’s leadership, outstanding alumni entrepreneurs, teachers and students gathered together, in the afternoon of November 10th when the 2015 Luojia Alumni Forum with the theme of “Internet+ ” Innovation and Entrepreneurshipwas held in students’ activity center. 

Luojia Alumni Forum, an annual theme summit, was founded by Alumni Entrepreneur Association of WHU in 2014, aiming to make it a brand forum, in the meanwhile, setting up the Luojia venture capital fund to help WHU students realize their dreams of starting their own business.

In the welcome and opening address, WHU President Li Xiaohong said that a good university is not only one that with excellent faculty, but also with outstanding alumni. President Li hoped that all the students could be as excellent as these alumni and come back to their Almam Mater a thoughtful and successful person.

The atmosphere in the forum continuously got warmer when Mr.Tao Chuang was delivering his speech. Tao got admitted by WHU in 1986 and majored in geographical information and remote sensing. He is now the chairman and CEO of Zhizhuo Capital and Network Company and has many other titles. Reviewing his growth from his childhood, Tao told audience that WHU witnessed the happiest and the most beautiful four years of his life, where he found opportunity in transboundary innovation. He encouraged every WHU student to challenge themselves and achieve personal value.

In the following speech session, famous alumni Mr. Yu Gang, Mr. Tian Yuan, Mr. Ai Luming and Mr. Mao Zhenhua all shared their experience in starting new business. Lei Jun, the founder and chairman of Xiaomi Technology though did not show up in the forum, sent a video tape to express his good wishes to the forum and WHU students. After that, President Li awarded WHU teams who won the gold medal in China’s first “Internet+” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

Mr. Chen Dongsheng made a speech in the last session. Chen, the chairman and CEO of Taikang Life, donated one hundred million yuan to build Wanlin Art Museum in WHU. He insightfully analyzed current situation of the development of China and taught students ways of seeking business opportunities.

Alumni are valuable resource and endless motivation of the development of a university. The forum provided a platform for WHU students and alumni to exchanged ideas on innovation and entrepreneurship.
