Cooperation to be Expanded between WHU and Central Eastern European Universities

In order to promote the relationship between Wuhan University and universities in Central and Eastern Europe, Li Fei, Vice President of Wuhan University and leader of the delegation, visited many countries in Europe from Oct 12th to Oct 20th. Li signed five agreements with different institutions to promote interscholastic cooperation and advanced the application progress for European programs. The agreements would also attract more international students from Europe to further their studies at Wuhan University.

The delegation visited University of Warsaw in Poland, Palacky University in The Czech Republic, Babeș-Bolyai University, Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, and Universitatea Titu Maiorescu in Romania and established ties in interscholastic exchange and student exchange. In addition, agreements on the high-quality Erasmus Mundus Program were also signed with University of Warsaw, Babeș-Bolyai University and Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University.

During the visit, the delegation introduced WHU’s schools and departments, English taught program, European scholarship program and the participation experience in European programs. The five institutions aforementioned reached agreements with Wuhan University to promote cooperation and communication in the fields of business and administration, resources and environment, geographical information and joint-training in PhD programs.

As it is reported, Wuhan University will post more information and keep track of the application of Erasmus Program. More scholars and students will be encouraged to further their studies with the financial assistance from the European Union through these agreements. Wuhan University would also apply for the European scholarship program from TheMinistry of Education in order to attract more international students by offering sponsorship, as well as to enhance the international influence by promoting the English taught programs and research projects.
