Republic of Korea Consul General Visits WHU

The Republic of Korea Consul General in Wuhan, Mr. Han Gwangsup, led a delegation to visit Wuhan University on the afternoon of January 18th, where WHU President Li Xiaohong, Executive Vice-President Feng Youmei received them.


Both parties expressed their hope for further improving mutual cooperation.  Korea has emphasized exchanges and cooperation with central China and seeks to deepen trade and academic collaboration with Hubei province. The Korean Consulate General in Wuhan will continue to facilitate Korean’s universities and enterprises in developing partnership with WHU.


Given its international focus, WHU has in the past developed cooperation with Korean institutions in education, culture and scientific research, supported the development of Korean enterprises in Hubei. WHU leaders expressed their desire to continue to strengthen cooperation with educational institutions and universities in Korea, student exchanges and enhance mutual understanding of each other’s culture.


WHU has signed exchange agreements with about 20 universities in Korea and WHU academics have been sponsored by The Korea Foundation to enter the international scholar mobility program pursuing advanced studies each year since 2005. In order to deepen the ties, the WHU College of Foreign Languages and Literature has been offering Korean language classes for students since September 2011.
