WHU welcomes first cohort of its new Collaborative Education Program of Master’s Degree between Wuhan University of China and Dublin City University of Ireland

On September 23, Wuhan University (WHU) hosted an orientation for the first cohort of the new Collaborative Education Program of Masters Degree between Wuhan University of China and Dublin City University of Ireland. The meeting aimed to help new students gain a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics, academic resources and future development paths of the cooperative program.

The event, held in WHU’s Electronic Information School, brought together students and key university figures. Notable attendees included Hu Jing, deputy dean of the Graduate School, and Gao Zhi, deputy director of the Office of International Affairs, alongside program coordinators and faculty members. The orientation served to introduce students to the unique opportunities the WHU-DCU partnership offers, including access to cutting-edge educational resources and a chance to study in Ireland for their second year.

Program highlights and international opportunities


Hu Jing, deputy dean of the Graduate School, gave a speech in which she warmly welcomed the students who had newly joined the program. At the meeting, she emphasized the significance of the program, noting its accreditation by the Chinese Ministry of Education and its role in WHU’s efforts to innovate postgraduate training and foster international collaboration. She encouraged students to take full advantage of the resources available, develop a global mindset, and aim for excellence in their studies.

Li Deshi, secretary of the school’s party committee, underlined the value of the partnership with DCU, noting that both universities have worked closely to design a curriculum that combines the strengths of the Chinese and Irish educational systems. Gao Zhi, deputy director of the Office of International Affairs, shared his expectations for the new academic year and international cooperation projects.
