On April 9, Professor Édouard Kaminski, president of Université Paris Cité, visited Wuhan University (WHU) to strengthen collaboration in humanities, sciences, and medicine. The visit also included a joint meeting of the Confucius Institute Council.

WHU President Zhang Pingwen welcomed the delegation and reflected on more than 20 years of partnership between the two universities. He highlighted the 2024 agreement to relaunch the China-France Elite Mathematics Program and establish the China-France Joint Research Center for Mathematics. Zhang noted that Université Paris Cité is one of WHU's most valued French partners and expressed hopes for deeper, more practical cooperation.

Professor Kaminski praised the long-standing collaboration and said the visit – joined by deans and international affairs representatives – aimed to explore new areas for joint initiatives. The French delegation also visited the School of Mathematics and Statistics and Zhongnan Hospital to discuss joint degree programs and research partnerships.
At the Confucius Institute Council meeting, both sides affirmed their continued support for the institute, recognizing its key role in language education and cultural exchange.
Université Paris Cité is a leading multidisciplinary research university formed through the merger of Paris Descartes University, Paris Diderot University, and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris. WHU established its partnership with Paris Diderot University in 2003, marking 22 years of collaboration.
