New Zealand Ambassador to China Jonathan Austin visited Wuhan University (WHU) with his delegation on May 16. WHU Council Chairman Huang Taiyan met with the guests, joined by Vice-president Yuan Yufeng.

Huang briefed the delegation on the university's history, academic programs, and global partnerships. He noted that WHU has established ties with all eight public universities in New Zealand and expressed hopes to deepen collaboration in talent development and academic exchange to support bilateral growth.

Ambassador Austin highlighted the importance of educational cooperation in China–New Zealand relations. He voiced strong support for closer ties between New Zealand institutions and top Chinese universities like WHU, encouraging greater youth exchanges and mutual understanding.
