WHU and BNU complete first two-way exchange program

Wuhan University (WHU) and Egypt's Benha National University (BNU) jointly held their first "clinical training + cultural experience" exchange program from Aug 1 to 16.

BNU Vice-President Karim Eldash led 13 medical students to WHU, while WHU sent eight students to Egypt for a 16-day academic and cultural exchange.

At WHU, Egyptian students visited Renmin Hospital, Zhongnan Hospital, and the Hospital of Stomatology to observe AI-assisted diagnostics, organ transplants, surgical robotics, and virtual simulations, while also experiencing traditional Chinese medicine.

In Egypt, WHU students attended lectures, observed local medical practices, and explored the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, the Nile, and the Library of Alexandria.

The program concluded with a joint seminar at WHU's School of Medicine, where certificates of completion were presented to outstanding faculty and students. WHU Vice-President Yuan Yufeng called the initiative the beginning of long-term medical collaboration and a step forward in Belt and Road educational cooperation.

Karim Eldash praised WHU's achievements in medical education and expressed hopes for expanded cooperation in student exchanges, clinical training, research, and talent development.

Both universities also discussed joint training programs, clinical technology exchange, and the establishment of shared research platforms, laying the groundwork for deeper collaboration.
