Wuhan University and University of Milano-Bicocca forge partnership

A delegation led by Professor Giuseppe Gorini, vice-rector of the University of Milano-Bicocca (UMB), visited Wuhan University (WHU) on July 17, signing a framework cooperation agreement.

Yuan Yufeng, vice-president of WHU, outlined the university's academic strengths, its digital and intelligent education philosophy, and its collaboration with Italian institutions.

Yuan expressed hope that the agreement would serve as a catalyst for deepening collaboration in fields such as medicine, physics, chemistry, and archaeology, and help foster practical cooperation in student exchanges, joint training programs, international conferences, and collaborative research initiatives.

Gorini provided a brief overview of UMB's history and educational philosophy, sharing notable examples of the university's research and application in artificial intelligence. He emphasized the institution's strength in research quality and expressed eagerness to deepen bilateral cooperation with WHU to enhance research capabilities and contribute to the development of both China and Italy.

The delegation also held discussions with representatives from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, the School of Physics and Technology, and the School of History, exploring potential directions for future collaboration.

They visited WHU's Renmin Hospital, its outpatient building, and the Cardiovascular Institute.
