WHU team wins China regional championship in IALMC

From Feb 21 to 23, the Wuhan University (WHU) team emerged as the national champion in the 16th International Air Law Moot Court Competition (IALMC) China Regional Rounds. The team secured seven awards, including Best Memorials for both the Applicant and Respondent, Best Oralist for the Applicant, and Best Applicant-team. With this achievement, they have successfully advanced to the international finals, which are set to take place in Athens, Greece, this April.

Coached by Professor Huang Jiefang and Postdoctoral Fellow Shi Yuran, the team featured oralists Wu Qixuan, Ke Chenying, and Cheng Zhuo, along with researchers Dong Yue, Huang Tongmucun, Zhang Yating, and Zhang Jingyi. During eight months of intensive preparations, the team refined their skills in legal research, memorial writing, and courtroom advocacy, demonstrating exceptional legal expertise, fluent English communication, and outstanding teamwork. Their impressive performance earned high praise from the judges.

The IALMC, jointly organized by Leiden University's Institute of Air and Space Law and India's Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation, is the world's only moot court competition dedicated to aviation law. WHU has participated in the competition for the past eight years straight. This year's outstanding results further underscore the university's strength in international aviation law and its commitment to cultivating top-tier legal professionals for global practice.
