Wuhan University's (WHU) philosophy subject has achieved a global ranking of 23rd and is ranked 1st in Asia according to the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject, which were released on March 12. This follows the school's strong performance in the 2023 QS rankings, where it was placed 43rd globally and 1st among mainland Chinese universities.

The rankings independently analyzed the performance of over 1,700 universities from more than 100 countries and regions across 55 subject areas. Evaluations were also made in five major academic fields: arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences.
