Huang Yuting, a 2023 PhD graduate from Wuhan University's (WHU) School of Information Management, has been named one of two global winners of the 2025 iSchools Doctoral Dissertation Award – becoming the first recipient from an Asian university since the award's inception.

Huang completed her undergraduate and doctoral studies at WHU. Her award-winning research focuses on digital literacy among rural residents in China. Selected from among 25 nominees submitted by iSchools member institutions worldwide, her work stood out for its rigorous methodology and innovative contributions.
Established by iSchools, the award honors outstanding doctoral research in the field of information. This year, 30 experts reviewed submissions, ultimately naming Huang and Yim Register from the University of Washington as co-winners. The recognition marks a major milestone for WHU's global academic impact in information studies.
