July 1, 2025

US-headquartered analytics company Clarivate released its latest Journal Citation Reports (JCR) on June 18, announcing that Global Health Research and Policy (GHRP) – an English-language journal hosted by the School of Public Health at Wuhan University (WHU) achieved an impact factor of 4.6.

GHRP ranks third among the 14 English-language journals worldwide with "Global Health" in their titles.

GHRP's global ranking in the "Public Health, Environmental and Occupational Health" category has risen from 57th to 37th.

The journal now ranks 37th globally in the category "Public Health, Environmental and Occupational Health" and third among 14 English journals with "Global Health" in their title, following The Lancet Global Health and BMJ Global Health.

Since receiving its first impact factor in 2023, GHRP has remained for four consecutive years in the JCR Q1 quartile, establishing itself as a top-tier academic platform. It stands out as one of the few Chinese journals recognized by both international citation metrics and national evaluation systems. With a strong focus on global health equity, the journal actively promotes research dissemination and policy translation.

Launched in 2016, GHRP is indexed in PubMed, Scopus, Medline and other major databases, with a real-time Scopus CiteScore of 6.7. As of June 2025, it has received over 3,200 submissions from over 80 countries, with international contributions accounting for more than 80 percent. Its readership spans North America, Europe, Africa and the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

GHRP will continue to advance high-quality publishing, support WHU's public health discipline development and amplify China's voice in global health governance.
