Min Aung Hlaing praised Wuhan University as a “great university” and noted that Myanmar’s newly established Space Agency looks forward to China’s support in aerospace development.

Gong Wei introduced Wuhan University’s long history and educational philosophy, inviting Min Aung Hlaing to visit. Li Deren highlighted the contributions of the university’s Luojia satellite series in supporting Myanmar’s earthquake relief and combating telecom fraud, as well as the mission of the “Oriental Eye” satellite constellation.

Wuhan University and the Myanmar Space Agency began cooperating in 2024, focusing on training, talent development, and sustainable growth.

Following Myanmar’s 7.9-magnitude earthquake on March 28 this year, Wuhan University’s State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing deployed the “Oriental Eye” Gaofen-01 and Luojia-3 02 satellites to provide rapid imaging and disaster assessment, supporting Myanmar’s emergency response.
