On Sept 5, a delegation from the Myanmar Space Agency, led by Director Soe Myint Maung, visited Wuhan University (WHU) to discuss potential future collaboration. The delegation was received by WHU's Vice-President Yuan Yufeng.
Vice-President Yuan highlighted the strong ties between China and Myanmar as partners in the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed optimism about the vast potential for deepening technological cooperation, noting that this visit presents a valuable opportunity to explore new models of partnership and expand areas of collaboration.
Director Soe Myint Maung thanked the university for its warm reception. He acknowledged the longstanding friendship between China and Myanmar and praised WHU for its world-leading remote sensing program and strong academic reputation. He expressed hope that collaboration in the space sector would further strengthen bilateral relations, establish robust research platforms, and cement educational and scientific partnerships.
Representatives from WHU’s Office of International Affairs, State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, and the School of Artificial Intelligence also participated in the meeting.
