On Sept 16, Wuhan University (WHU) hosted the site inspection meeting for the national major scientific instrument development project, "In-situ Monitoring and Regulation Experimental Device for Wide-Bandgap Semiconductor Heterogeneous Interfaces".
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the expert panel, project team members, representatives of the project’s host and partner institutions, and staff members from the interdisciplinary science department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

The site inspection meeting for the national major scientific instrument development project is held at WHU.
During the inspection, the expert panel unanimously agreed that the project has a clear and focused research objective, with a distinct interdisciplinary approach. The project team possesses a solid academic foundation, and both the host and partner institutions offer comprehensive support and a robust implementation framework, laying a strong foundation for the project’s high-quality development.
Wu Lizhu, deputy director of the NSFC, participated online and remarked that the project had emerged through multiple rounds of selection in a highly competitive process, earning unanimous expert approval. She expressed hope that the project would establish a world-class research platform, offering broader services to scientists in related fields.
WHU President Zhang Pingwen emphasized that as the host institution, WHU is committed to supporting the project by establishing a dedicated management committee and providing ample support in terms of space, funding, and talent policies. This ensures the team can focus entirely on their research, contributing to China's goal of achieving high-level scientific self-reliance and strength.
