WHU and Lomonosov Moscow State University sign cooperation agreement

Wuhan University and Lomonosov Moscow State University sign a student exchange agreement.

A delegation from Lomonosov Moscow State University, led by Vice-President Yuri Alexandrovich Mazei, signed a student exchange agreement with Wuhan University (WHU) on June 8.

Gong Wei, vice-president of WHU, highlighted the university’s longstanding collaboration with Russian institutions, noting that WHU has developed many distinguished diplomats proficient in Russian.

Gong expressed hope that the agreement would further enhance student exchanges, faculty visits, and joint educational programs, contributing to China-Russia cooperation in education and research.

Mazei emphasized Lomonosov Moscow State University's commitment to collaboration with Chinese institutions and shared experiences of successful partnerships with other Chinese universities.

He expressed a desire to establish a more systematic mechanism for cooperation with WHU, aiming to expand collaboration and promote cultural exchange and educational development between China and Russia.

The delegation also discussed with representatives from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, the Economics and Management School, and the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Lomonosov Moscow State University, founded in 1755, is Russia's oldest and largest comprehensive research university. It has produced 11 Nobel laureates and six Fields Medalists and is ranked 105th in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.
