The Wuhan University (WHU) men's volleyball team clinched victory after a grueling 10-day competition in the CUVA (China University Volleyball Association) volleyball league for undergraduate teams, held from July 27 to Aug 5 in Xiamen, Fujian province.

They emerged triumphant against 20 top teams, defeating Shanghai Jiao Tong University 3-1 to defend their national championship title.

This victory marks a historic achievement, as the team becomes the first in the league's regular undergraduate men's category to defend its title. Meanwhile, the women's volleyball team achieved a commendable fourth-place finish.

This success is the result of relentless preparation. The team sacrificed their summer vacation to remain on campus for intensive training, focusing on refining technical details and honing tactical systems.

After each match, they conducted thorough performance reviews, analyzing mistakes, highlighting strengths, and strategically studying their next opponents.

Since their debut in 2015, the men's team has shown remarkable progress on the national stage, claiming the national championship in the 2017-2018, 2022-2023, and 2024-2025 seasons, with this latest defense marking their fourth title.

They have also secured one national runner-up position and two national third-place finishes, while also winning the Hubei provincial collegiate volleyball league five times and the provincial university games volleyball championship three times.
