Wuhan University's robotics team achieved remarkable success at the 25th China University Robot Competition (CURC) ROBOCON, held in July, thanks to their strong technical foundation and consistent performance.

This year's competition featured three major events: the "Kung Fu Quest" robot contest, the Bionic Legged Robot Challenge, and the Robot Volleyball Challenge. A total of 297 teams from 133 universities, involving nearly 5,000 students, participated in the event.

Wuhan University clinched three national first prizes, the Mammotion Most Intelligent Award, two national second prizes in the Bionic Legged Robot Challenge, and a national second prize in its debut Robot Volleyball Challenge. The team was also honored with the Excellent Organization Award, with Professor Wang Wei receiving the National Outstanding Instructor Award.

Each team operated two self-developed robots to complete tasks such as weapon assembly and navigating dynamic environments. The robots were required to demonstrate multi-machine coordination, intelligent decision-making, and high reliability.

The Wuhan University team was guided by faculty from the School of Robotics and comprised of students from diverse fields, including robotics, mechanical engineering, energy, electrical engineering, remote sensing, and physics. Throughout their preparation, they focused on structural optimization and intelligent algorithm upgrades, developing robots capable of rapid movement, precise grasping, and coordinated operations.

Founded in 2002, the CURC ROBOCON is a flagship event in China's robotics competition landscape that aims to promote the integration of robotics technology with engineering education and cultivate new engineering talents with innovative spirit and practical skills.
